Through our respite care service, we support family carers by offering them moments of respite in complete confidence. Thanks to a humane approach and interdisciplinary collaboration, we provide high-quality support based on listening, communication and respect for each individual.
A committed and supportive team, driven by a desire to provide support with respect and kindness people with disabilities or Alzheimer's disease. Every day, we work to ensure their well-being and comfort, offering an attentive and reassuring presence, both at home and in hospital.
Your responsibilities
- Designing and leading adapted recreational and artistic activities, planning their organisation and the necessary materials, while encouraging the active participation of the person being cared for and demonstrating creativity according to their needs.
- Providing personalised educational support by helping the person being helped to learn, motivating them to do their homework, rewarding their progress, encouraging their interpersonal skills and providing a structured, appropriate and respectful environment.
- Providing day-to-day care for people with disabilities or Alzheimer's by meeting their essential needs, respecting their pace of life, ensuring their comfort, detecting signs of discomfort and intervening appropriately, including in the case of first aid.
- Promoting the autonomy of the person being helped by giving them the freedom to act and experiment as they see fit, while supporting their development.
- Ensuring the well-being and safety of the person being cared for by guaranteeing a safe and healthy environment, teaching them the rules of hygiene, being alert to signs of abuse, applying instructions in the event of an accident and keeping living areas tidy and in good condition.
- Ensuring smooth communication with family carers and service providers, taking into account the habits and needs of the person being cared for, sharing observations clearly and ensuring that family expectations are met.
- Organise your work according to priorities and adapt your work rhythm to the pace of the person being cared for
- Working as part of a team
- Comply with safety standards and apply hygiene and ergonomic rules appropriate to the trade
Contract
- Fixed-term contract subject to APE access with a view to a permanent contract
- Part-time - 20 hours/week
- Flexible hours, rotating schedules with weekends distributed fairly
- Day and night shifts

Desired profile
- Qualified A2 or A1 educator
- Hold a B driving licence and personal vehicle
- Living in the Charleroi region
- Possess essential human qualities: kindness, patience, listening skills and team spirit.
- Have the ability to work independently
- Placing people at the centre of its interests
- Comply with administrative instructions and safety standards
- Knowing how to work with people with disabilities or Alzheimer's and their families/carers
